As a senior account executive with a leading freight forwarder, Paul Newby was responsible for the sales and services of customs brokerage and land transportation for resident and non-resident importers of product to Canada. Paul has aided in the development of increased volume for the South East and South West USA traffic lanes. These services were sold to a wide range of companies including the industrial, commercial, and retail sectors. On many occasions, a complete cost analysis was performed to identify the current shipping patterns and then effectively implement efficient transportation solutions and enhanced practices.
Paul started working at this company in late 1988 at an entry-level position to begin learning the transportation industry from the ground up. During this period, some of his responsibilities included coordinating the daily perishable flower shipments from The Netherlands, customs brokerage customer service representative, and day-to-day customer related requests. Within a few short years, early in 1993, Paul was then assigned to promoting and selling the customs brokerage and other freight services offered by this transportation company. Throughout his tenure, he has maintained a strong customer following through his integrity and attention to detail.
He is currently an active member and holds a degree in transportation logistics management with the Canadian International Traffic and Transportation. (CITT) This multi year course dealt with many real life circumstances and influences effecting the movement of freight within the industry today.
The other designation he maintains is with the Canadian Society of Customs Brokers as a Customs Certified Specialist. (CCS).
